An engineering student was killed when an auto-rickshaw hit him after the bike he was riding skidded on the road near Jalagam Vengal Rao Park in Banjara Hills on Saturday.
Aashroy, 21, pursuing B.Tech. course in Vasavi Engineering College, was going from Mehdipatnam to Secunderabad on a bike with his friend Anudeep sitting on the pillion when the vehicle skidded on the road.
The two youngsters fell on the road while a speeding three-wheeler hit Aashroy. The student was hearing helmet but suffered serious wounds and died on the spot.
The pillion rider escaped with minor injuries, the Banjara Hills Sub-Inspector, B. Ramesh, said.
