Apparel store gutted in Sultan Bazar

September 14, 2016 12:00 am | Updated November 01, 2016 06:22 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

An apparel store was gutted in a fire accident that raged for four hours before being put out in the busy Sultan Bazar area early on Tuesday.

Police suspect that a short circuit at Swapna Dresses may have set-off the fire, which raged in an unusual manner; the fire descended instead of ascending as in case of most fires and destroyed all the cloth material inside. The owners claim that material worth Rs. 1 crore has been damaged.

According to Sultan Bazar police, the fire was first reported at 1.30 a.m. and took about four hours to be doused. No injuries or loss of life were reported. The police and fire personnel have learnt that neither goods nor the store was insured.
