Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB) plans to set up 50 Aadhaar enrolment centres in Telangana and 26 in Andhra Pradesh to enable those not having Aadhaar card to enrol for it.

The public can also use the centres for modifications in the existing Aadhaar card. A total of 148 officials (99 from Telangana branches and 49 from A.P. branches) had been identified to supervise the enrolment centres that are to be set up within the identified branches.

As part of this exercise, the APGVB on Tuesday conducted a training programme for the officials in Hyderabad with inputs from the UIDAI officials.

Inaugurating the programme, grameena bank chairman V. Narasi Reddy said with the support of State Bank of India, a technology service provider had been identified which will set up Aadhaar enrolling machines for this purpose.

Following the Centre’s guidelines on 100% Aadhaar linking to bank accounts before March 31, APGVB is all set to extend the Aadhaar enrolling service to the public, a release from the Warangal-headquartered bank said.
