Andhra Pradesh Government has approved incentives for a food laboratory to showcase cryogenic food freezing technology as well as the Rs.500-crore Air Separation Unit that industrial gases major Linde India Ltd. proposes to establish at separate locations in the State.

Through The Food Lab and Learning Centre, in Bhimavaram, West Godavari district, the company wants to spread awareness among food processing units, food associations and exporters on the benefits of using liquid nitrogen at minus 196 degrees Celsius to freeze shrimps.

The investment proposed on the facility is Rs.10 crore. The government has decided to offer a capital subsidy of 25 per cent (not exceeding Rs.1 crore) on the cost of plant and machinery.
