Andhra Pradesh will conduct the Engineering and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) on May 8 instead of May 10 in view of clash of dates with other entrance tests.
For the first time, an online option will also be provided for students along with the conventional mode of entrance test.
HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao told media persons here on Monday, that the EAMCET had been rescheduled following representations from students and parents that it would clash with other exams such as Karnataka private colleges’ common entrance test, DSC.
After discussing with the APSCHE Chairman, secretaries of education departments, a decision was taken to hold the test on May 8 and the notification would be issued on March 3. JNTU-Kakinada would conduct the test. Asked whether the government was prepared to conduct the online test and had prepared students,he said it was for the students to exercise their choice as both formats would be available. Mr. Rao said there were no changes in the dates of other entrance tests.
