“Because you are worth it”. Even before you thought thinking would be a good idea, the winning team at the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz had an answer.
Anwar-ul-uloom College of Business Management (AUCBM) trumped Bhavans Degree College in a tense last round of the extravaganza, also beating teams from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad School of Business, MVSR College and St. Francis College for Women.
A total of 142 teams from 65 different colleges participated. Spread over six rounds, the hour-long duel covered aspects from science and technology to advertisements.
The audience was kept on the edge as quiz master Giri Balasubramaniam passed on some of the questions to them.
Anwar-ul-uloom’s winning team of Muneer Ali and Naresh Kumar, both final-year students of MBA (finance) bagged a cash prize of Rs.75, 000. Runners-up Mohan and Sree Raj from Bhavan’s the second prize, a cash prize of Rs.35,000 as the second prize. “We have been participating for the last four years and have finally succeeded,” squealed a visibly delighted Muneer Ali. “We expect tough competition at the regional finals in Bangalore,” his team mate, Naresh Kumar added. V. Rajanna, GM and Regional Head, Tata Consultancy Services Limited, gave away the prizes. The regional finals will be held on April 14.
