Minister for Infrastructure and Investment Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Thursday said the A.K. Antony Committee should visit the districts to understand the groundswell of support for Samaikyandhra instead of accepting representations in support and against bifurcation in New Delhi and Hyderabad.

He was speaking to repo-rters after unveiling Telugu Talli statue at Maddilapalem junction here.

“The people are our high command and the Congress leadership should reconsider its decision in recognition of growing support for Samaikyandhra,” he said.

The minister, who had announced his resignation protesting the decision to divide the State, said his decision to quit the Cabinet was final.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the agitation by the integrationists would be intensified further if the Congress high command did not reverse its decision. He said some MLAs, MLCs, MPs and Ministers had already quit their posts and in the coming days more would follow suit.
