Around 1,600 pieces of furniture, mostly antique, are on sale at The Great Trunk Show , an exhibition that began on Thursday at Hotel Taj Falaknuma. The expo, which is being organised by Taj Khazana and The Great Eastern Home, features beds, consoles, paintings, dining tables, chandeliers and other home décor products.

“We get a lot of clients from Hyderabad, besides Mumbai and Delhi. About 15 years ago, most buyers of antiques from us were foreigners but now we get more Indians,” Anurag Kanoria of The Great Eastern Home said about the expanding antique market. Many have also come to look at antiques as a profitable investment option, he said.

“For those buyers who insist on the authenticity of the products, we also give them a certificate from the Archaeological Society of India,” Mr. Kanoria added.

The exhibition will be on till February 18, after which it would shift to Taj Palace and Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi. Those interested in viewing the collections or buying them, can call 040-66298600.
