Khan had called his family members at around 5.30 p.m. on Friday to say that he would be going to Dilsukhnagar for some work and that he would get home after that.
As fate would have it, he never answered calls after the blasts and his body was found among the dead in the mortuary of the Osmania General Hospital, his son Kamran said.
Fighting back tears, the boy recalled that his father had planned to go for Haj soon, as he had married off his only daughter.
Amanullah’s brother, Sajahullah Khan of Chanchalguda was hopeful of his elder brother’s safe return home after selling garments on the pavement at Dilsukhnagar.
“He would return home by 9.30 p.m. everyday. After he failed to come home by 10.30 p.m., we searched in about four hospitals. We came to the OGH in the morning and found his body,” Sajahullah said, weeping inconsolably.
