All set for Bonalu

The Bonalu festivities at the historic Akkanna Madanna Mahankali Temple, Haribowli, will commence from Friday with Minister for Major Industries J. Geetha Reddy, hoisting the flag (Dwajarohana).

Temple committee president, G. Niranjan, while speaking to media persons said that the ‘Matha Ghatam’ procession would start from Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Shahalibanda on Sunday and the ‘ghatam’ would be installed at the Akkanna Madanna Mahankali temple in the evening. He said that all arrangements are being made to make the festival a grand affair.

A photography expo will be held on the occasion on August 1. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Nadendla Manohar, Speaker, A.P. Legislative Assembly.

The main festival will be held on August 4 with the special abhisekhan commencing in the early morning hours and devotees can offer Bonam till late in the night. On August 5, a procession will be taken out from the temple and conclude at the Matha Temple at Nayapul, Mr. Niranjan added.
