Doctors at the Apollo Hospital are having a tough time finding out the reason for the recurring abdominal pain being felt by the Majlis legislator, Akbaruddin Owaisi. The latter was admitted to the super speciality hospital on Tuesday following shooting pain in his stomach.
Mr. Owaisi, however, felt much better on Wednesday with the pain subsiding a bit. Doctors have detected ‘multiple adhesions’ in his abdomen, a condition caused by clinging of intestines. A team of doctors examined him on Wednesday and decided to repeat the CT scan and ultrasound tests. Laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Rajneeshcha-ndra Reddy also made a detailed examination of Mr. Owaisi.
Two years ago Mr.Owaisi had undergone a complicated surgery at the Global Hospital for removal of the intestinal obstruction caused due to adhesion.
At 10 places his intestines had got twisted, the result of gunshot wounds received in the murderous attack on him in May 2011.
According to his personal physician, Dr. Mazharuddin Ali Khan, the MIM leader had to undergo surgery to his intestines and also for tendon transfer of his left wrist and forearm.
“Where he will undergo the surgery is not yet decided,” Dr. Khan said.
Mr. Owaisi is on liquid diet since Tuesday as a series of tests had to be conducted. His family members are camping at the hospital. His elder brother, Asaduddin Owaisi, who is attending the Parliament session, is in constant touch with the hospital authorities.
