The Sangeet Natak Akademi has presented its prestigious award to the Hyderabad Brothers D. Seshachari and D. Raghavachari in the Carnatic classical music category for the year 2013.
It announced a total of 38 awards in music, dance, drama and other categories. It also bestowed Akademi Ratna awards to Ms. Kanak Reli, R. Satyanarayana and Mahesh Yelkumchwar, according to a release.
The Akademi Ratna, presented to only 40 eminent artistes so far, would carry a cash award of Rs.3 lakh and citation.
