Girls registered a 99.97 per cent pass, while 99.96 of boys, who took the All India Secondary School Examination for the year 2012-13, sailed through in Andhra Pradesh, according to the Central Board of Secondary Education.
According to the CBSE, the Board’s Chennai region includes a total of 2,338 schools in A.P., Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep & Pondicherry. The students would be given a Certificate of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation comprising their performance in Class IX and X, which would be assessed encompassing their achievements in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas.
Of the total of 23,454 students in Andhra Pradesh who registered for the examinations, 23,438 appeared while 23,430 qualified. Of the 13,340 boys who registered, 13,328 qualified, while 10,102 qualified out of the 10,113 girls who registered. The 296 schools include 48 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 23 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and 225 private schools.
