Action against policemen violating traffic rules

August 28, 2017 11:28 pm | Updated 11:28 pm IST - HYDERABAD

Hyderabad Traffic Police has began to penalise cops who are flouting motor vehicle rules, after a former GHMC corporator began to expose the violations.

Amjedullah Khan, former MBT Corporator, began posting images of cops riding two-wheelers without helmet, parking at places where parking is not permitted and triple riding, on Twitter. He also tagged the police administration, besides exposing the violations on other social media platform. The police administration took notice of the violations as they made headlines and issued penalty challans.

On Monday, the traffic police administration tweeted in response to Mr. Khan’s tweets that it had taken action against erring cops in four cases, with the challan numbers. Mr. Khan, who tagged the tweets to the police with the hashtag ‘practise what you preach’, continues to upload images of violations by cops.
