Noted scientist C.N.R. Rao gets Wockhardt’s Research Prize

The Hyderabad Management Association and Centre for Organisational Development conferred the annual awards of excellence on noted personalities, including scientist C.N.R. Rao and Apollo Hospitals chairman Pratap C. Reddy. At an awards ceremony here on Friday, achievements were recognised in four categories, including research. The B. Krishnamurthy Award of Excellence was conferred on Ashwin Dani, non-Executive Vice-chairman of Asian Paints. Mr. Danis emphasised that a combination of innovation and preservation ensures success.

The B.N. Maheshwari Memorial Lifetime Award for Healthcare was given to Dr. Pratap C. Reddy, who in his acceptance address called on managers and entrepreneurs in the gathering to strive for uncompromising excellence in all functions of handling.

While the founder of Reva Electric Cars Co, Chetan Maini, was recognised with Habil F. Khorakiwala Innovative Entrepreneur Award, Prof. Rao,was declared the Wockhardt’s Research Prize winner. “We should be able to bring out scientists from rural India. There is a need to focus on innovation in villages,” he said.
