Accused of stealing mobile phone, teenager hangs self

Neighbours reportedly picked up a quarrel with Nagaraju and beat him up over the issue

A youngster who was accused of stealing a mobile phone by his neighbours committed suicide by hanging, in Budvel village near Rajendranagar on Tuesday night.

Police said B. Nagaraju (19), a carpenter by profession, had intervened to pacify his neighbours who were quarrelling two days ago.

Later the neighbours went to his house, accused him of stealing a mobile phone from their house and beat him up.

On Tuesday they reportedly picked up a quarrel with him and beat him up again over the issue. A humiliated Nagaraju hanged himself at his house, the Rajendranagar police said.

Accident victim dies

K. Srinivas (30), a construction worker of Ramachandrapuram, who had been undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a road accident, died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at the Osmania General Hospital. Police said Srinivas had sustained severe head injuries after the bike he was riding skidded near Kolleru village on Monday.

Man hit by train, dies

An unidentified man, aged around 55 years, died after a train hit him between Uppuguda and Yakutpura railway stations on Tuesday night. The man was wearing a white shirt and black pant.

Police have shifted the body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary pending identification.
