Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) A. Ramulu of Sanugula village in Chandurthi mandal for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from a farmer for doing official favour on Tuesday.

According to ACB Deputy Director T. Sudarshan Goud, the VRO had been demanding the bribe from a farmer Ravinder for mutation and to get online entry of land documents. The farmer approached the ACB, who trapped the VRO while accepting the bribe amount at the Tahsildar office in Chandurthi mandal.

Expressing concern over increasing complaints of revenue officials resorting to corrupt practices to do their legitimate duties of mutation of land records, the DD informed the farmers and others to dial 1064 toll-free number to lodge complaints against the revenue officials including the VROs.
