The Amberpet police on Wednesday rescued a housewife who was abducted by a car driver to get back the four lakh rupees he had given to her husband.

Along with the driver M. Srinivas, his accomplices Ch. Sairam and A. Raji Reddy were also held for abetting him, the Amberpet Inspector A.P. Anand Kumar said. The abducted housewife K. Nagamma’s husband K. Srinivasa Rao, who lives in DD Colony, had taken ₹4 lakh from Srinivas nearly seven years ago.

As Rao failed to repay the sum despite repeated reminders, Srinivas kidnapped his wife while she was at home on Tuesday night. On receipt of complaint, the police analysed video footage recorded by surveillance cameras, identified the accused and caught them near Tarnaka.

Three more accused involved in the case, M. Satyanarayana, Venkat and Sai Swaroopa were still at large.
