The Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation has decided to focus on better marketing of its products by setting up Vijaya Dairy brand outlets at tourist centres, major temples, State and national highways and other places where people gather/visit.

Speaking after inaugurating a boiler plant set up with Rs.2.48 crore and a product testing laboratory set up with Rs.1.7 crore at the Vijaya Dairy plant at Lalapet here on Saturday, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy T. Srinivas Yadav told the officials to avail the new technologies to improve the quality of dairy products since the brand already had a reputation in the market.

The Minister reiterated that government would take every step to protect the interests of dairy farmers in the State and the Rs.4 per litre incentive to farmers supplying milk to Vijaya Dairy would continue by crediting the amount in their bank accounts. Plans were afoot to increase the milk procurement from the present 5.5 lakh litres per day.

He asked the dairy farmers not to go by misinformation being spread by some sections about the incentive being given to them since government was committed to continue it.

Development of the dairy federation would be focused once the bifurcation was over formally and vacancies would be filled after that.

The Minister assured justice to those working on outsourcing basis.
