When all good things come to an end, people walk away with cherished memories that bring a smile. The happy faces of over 200 children were testimony to the good times they had during the Pogo M.A.D. live workshop, a two-month summer camp.
The grand finale organised by Smart Potato on Wednesday saw children and their parents having a rocking time at Ravindra Bharati as participants from various centres put up amusing dance performances.
A group of children also performed a small play, talking about the fun they had in the summer camp, much to the audiences delight.
One after the other, children from seven centres took the stage and danced to various hit songs right from Bollywood to hip-hop, as their parents encouraged them. “These camps help children tap their hidden talent and it's good to know that the kids had a great time at these camps,” said Subash Kumar, a parent. Highlight of the event was when Harun Robert, popularly known as Rob, brains behind the popular Music Art and Dance (MAD) show aired on Pogo, appeared on stage playing the ‘beat box'.
He gave the children a surprise by drawing ‘Go Green' in graffiti and the children later jostled with each other to get Rob's autograph.
‘Wonderful experience'
“It's a wonderful experience to have kids learn about art and recycling. Most art works we show on Pogo is done by unused stuff and I'm happy that the children are enthusiastic about learning art in a different way,” Rob exclaimed.
Children in the age group of three to 15 years learnt new art tricks, techniques, concepts and various other activities such as Treasure Island, jungle safari and others in the camp.
