A Freudian slip!

March 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A slip of tongue by Congress legislator N. Vamsichand Reddy in Telangana Assembly on Thursday gave an opportunity to the treasury benches to utilise it to their advantage.

Mr. Reddy, while talking about social security pensions, said the previous government had increased the amount from Rs. 75 to Rs. 200/Rs. 500 per month and the TRS government had increased it to Rs. 1,000/Rs. 1,500.

“However, in terms of value, the amounts are equal as one used to get a bag of groceries for Rs. 2,000 (he actually meant Rs. 200) then and they are getting the same with Rs. 1,000 now,” the Congress member said. To this, Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT K.T. Rama Rao stood up and said that facts were coming out unintentionally from the Opposition member.
