Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed by the State government would investigate gangster Nayeem’s case better than the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and there was no need to transfer the case to the latter.

He said those found guilty by the SIT would be punished by the court and that they not go by the fake news circulating about the gangster on social media.

Speaking to reporters after laying the foundation stone for a police quarters at the district headquarters on Monday, Mr. Reddy said Telangana has proven to be the best in the country, and police teams were coming from other States to learn from the police department here.

“We have provided the best equipment to the police, in addition to over 500 vehicles for quick mobility, so that they can reach the place of incident without delay. Even the Station House Officer is being provided with monthly funds for stationary and other requirements,” said the Home Minister.

Asked about sanctioning of buildings for newly established police stations, Mr. Reddy said buildings would be sanctioned for every new police station.

Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy, Collector Bharati Hollikeri, and Superintendent of Police Chandana Deepti were also present.
