No maternity leave for contract lecturers in TS

Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiam Srihari reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to regularise the services of contract lecturers, and said it will be done as soon as the legal hurdles get cleared.

Replying during the Question Hour in the State Assembly, the Minister said that salaries of contract junior lecturers was enhanced and the file was under process for increasing the salaries of contract lecturers working in degree colleges and polytechnics.

The Minister also made it clear that there was no proposal to extend maternity leaves for contract lecturers. College-wise profiles were being readied to study all aspects like availability of toilets, buildings and drinking water and necessary action would be taken once the report is ready.

Agri Polytechnics

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that 25 acres was earmarked and Rs. 7 crore sanctioned for the Agriculture Polytechnic at Malthummeda in Kamareddy district while Rs. 2.75 crore was sanctioned for the one to be established at Jammikunta. Appointments for all Krishi Vignana Kendras would soon be done, he said.
