The Congress leaders reacted strongly to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s allegations against them in Mahabubabad on Friday saying his behaviour and language were in a manner “unbecoming of a State’s Chief Minister and shaming Telangana people and its culture”.

In a show of strength and unity, all the senior leaders of the party including TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy; Leader of Opposition in the Assembly (LoP) K. Jana Reddy; LoP in the Council Mohd Shabbir Ali; former PCC chiefs Ponnala Lakshmaiah and V. Hanumantha Rao and former deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Mallu Ravi addressed a press conference here and found fault with the language used by the Chief Minister while targeting them.

Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said KCR was getting abusive whenever they raised questions on public issues. “In the last three years, the CM has used police force to suppress dissent, threaten media and buy MLAs of other parties and nothing for farmers and students,” Mr. Reddy said.

No development

Not a single unit of electricity has been added during the TRS reign while projects were re-designed for “commissions from contracts. It is Andhra contractors carrying suitcases to him and he is accusing us of being surrendering to some guys in Andhra,” he said.

On the charge that Congress culture was to supply cheap liquor, Mr. Reddy harshly said the CM is an expert on liquor than anyone in the Congress.

“He has taken politics to a new low,” he said.
