Apparently perturbed by the series of molestations in the country and the rampant disregard for women in society, the Telangana Governor E.S.L Narasimhan chose the principals conclave of prominent schools to drive home the point that schools had a great role to play in inculcating respect for girls among boys right from the school days.

Mr. Narasimhan, who inaugurated the 77th Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) at the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, rendered the yesteryear super hit number Phoolon ka taron ka sabka kehna hai ek hazaaron mein meri behena hai as he spoke on the importance of girls, girl education and how the value of sisters should be inculcated among boys from an early age. Mr. Narsimhan referred to declining values and ethics among children and said it was the responsibility of the schools and principals to ensure they are imparted from an early age. He said society consists of ‘You, me and children’ and principals should sow the seeds for the future.
Principal of Daly College, Indore, Sumer Singh was honoured with lifetime achievement award at the conclave for his contribution to education and giving a new direction to school education in this era. The three-day conclave with a plethora of knowledgeable speakers, rejuvenating interactive sessions will lay emphasis on seeking, organising and managing knowledge. New ideas that would bring a paradigm shift in the thought process in the education will be discussed and is likely to enable the educators to equip students with the ammunition to face the challenges of the worlds.
Earlier, V.K. Banga, chairman of IPSC and principal of Mann School, Delhi welcomed. Latha Shankar, principal in-charge of Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, which is hosting the event were among those who spoke. The IPSC, formed in 1939 is known for its glorious traditions.
