A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akther on Tuesday adjourned the case filed regarding exemption of entertainment tax to Telugu feature film, Gautamiputra Satakarni, to Thursday.
The bench was informed that the Cabinet of AP had taken a decision for issuing new GO and formal order may be available by Wednesday. It was dealing with a case filed by Adarsh Kumar of Hyderabad who challenged the decision of the two State governments in exempting from tax a feature film in which Hindupur MLA of TDP N. Balakrishna played the lead role. He submitted the exemption was in violation of the law.
HCA case
The same bench said it would hear the case filed seeking full implementation of various guidelines issued by the Lodha Committee in Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on Wednesday.
It was over-ruling objections raised by the registry of High Court on maintainability of the writ petition filed by Govind Reddy, a practising advocate and a cricketer himself. He complained that the Hyderabad Cricket Association was scheduled to post a Test match against Bangladesh and that the affairs of the association were under a huge cloud.
The writ petition would now be regularly numbered and listed before the court for admission on Wednesday.
