After an overnight journey of about 430 kms from the city, you would reach Dindi, the land abutting river Godavari and replete with coconut trees.
Enjoying a boat ride in the Godavari waters even as gentle breeze blows across, you reach Anthervedi beach, the place where river Godavari joins with the sea. Picturesque locations and streams, make it indeed a worthy visit to this place. If one desires to enjoy the night atmosphere in the river, then there is the option of staying in house boat as well. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) is conducting a two-day and one night package tour, covering Dindi, Anthervedi and pilgrim centres which include Sri Lakshmi Narsimha Swamy Temple, Ksheera Rama Lingeswara Swamy Temple at Palakollu, Dwaraka Tirumala temple near Eluru and Kanakadurga Temple in Vijayawada.
Priced at Rs. 3,200 per person, the package includes transportation in an air-conditioned bus, air-conditioned accommodation at Dindi, food, 20-kms boat ride from Dindi to Anthervedi, and darshan charges at all the temples. Those willing to stay in the two-bedroom house boat in river Godavari at Dindi, have to spend about Rs. 5,500 per day (food cost extra). It provides accommodation for four adults and four children. For night stay, it would cost Rs. 3500, excluding food. Those opting for personal transportation can reach Dindi via Vijayawada, Tadepalligudem, Tanuku and Pallakollu. APTDC Hotel Haritha provides accommodation (AC) at a cost of Rs. 2,000 per day. - Nearest railway station to Dindi is at Narsapur or Palakollu.
