: Patrons in the city can rest assured: David Guetta, the French DJ, is set to rock the city on Saturday evening at Hitex. “The show is on,” that’s the message of the organisers of Sunburn event in Hyderabad, a day after the event was scrapped in Bengaluru amidst conflicting versions of event managers and the administration.
Even the Mumbai event, whose proceeds were to go for a charity, was scrapped hours before the show for not meeting safety/security requirements.
“We have absolute support from the government of Telangana as these kind of large format events add to the soft power of the city. Telangana wants to ramp up its presence and act like a magnet for events like Sunburn, Sensation, Tomorrowland, NH7 etc.,” says Vijay Amritraj, local partner for the Sunburn event in Hyderabad.
“We have all the required security and police permissions in place and the event will take place on schedule,” said the organiser of the event.
Later in the evening, Cyberabad police tweeted: “Welcome to #Hyderabad@davidguetta . Look forward to hosting you tomorrow. @cyberabadpolice committed to ensure a glitch free event as always.”
