Acubiz turns a unique platform for showcasing talent

A two-day mega talent hunt event, Acubiz, jointly organised by Roots Collegium and The Hindu concluded on Tuesday with students from various colleges and schools bagging several prizes in several creative categories.

The events were judged in Senior and Junior categories and colleges from around the city participated in the event. Apart from students of Roots Collegium, participants came from St. Mary’s Junior College, Basheerbagh, Loyola Academy, ICSI, Srinidhi Institute, Stanley Degree College, Aurora College, Mallareddy Engineering College, Little Flower Junior College, Obul Reddy Public School, Shri Chaitanya and Holy Mary Business School among others.

Vedula Sekhar, principal, College of Commerce and Management, Osmania University was the chief guest on the inaugural day and Viveck Verma, Coach, Investor, Philanthropist and Mentor currently with Anaphyxi People Consult Pvt. Ltd., 50k Ventures, Head Angels was the chief guest of the valedictory function. The judges on day 1 were Fiaz Ahmed, Regional manager, ICICI Securities Ltd for the Mock stock exchange event. Pavana Kumar, CEO, Open Face and Priya Darshini, Co-director for Short Films. For singing competition Hemalatha Iyer, Professional Classical Singer and Mayuri, Physician and Singer were the judges. The day two events were judged by Shravanthi for dance and Punaja Nagarjuna groups, and Vijay Sagar for Ad films and Poster Presentations and finance paper presentation respectively. For graffiti poster presentation the first place holder in the Junior level were Abhinav, Yash and Yuvraj from Roots Collegium and in the senior level the first place holders were Ayesha, Alakananda Padala, Suprajna, Somya and Tabrez from Roots.

The second place in the senior section was shared by Monica, Sreya, Padmini, Nagender & Aishwarya from roots and Gowthami, Vilasini, Snigdha from Holy Mary Degree College. In solo dance competition, Avinash Chowdhary from Sri Chaitanya Junior College and Sahithi Prayaga from Roots Collegium won first and second places in the junior level.

Junaid Khan of Nishitha College and Rubina Wadhwania of Roots Collegium won the first and second places in senior solo dance competition.

In the senior group dance competition winners were Aishwarya, Harichandana, Pranav, Rakesh, Charan from Roots Collegium.

In the mock stock exchange event Jitender Goel and Tanuj Agarwal of Roots Collegium won the first and second prizes in the junior category.

In the senior category the first and second prizes were bagged by Priyansh Saraf of Arora Degree College and Mukhpreet Khurana of Roots Collegium.

In the Business Progetto- Business Plan competition the winners in the junior category were Obul Reddy College and Ayesha Mahera, Lahari of Roots who won first and second prizes respectively.

In the senior category of the same competition, the winners were Vasudev and Team of Holy Mary College and Satyug Kejriwal, Shivam Khanna of Roots Collegium. In the business quiz competition’s junior category the winners were Sharat Chandra, Syed Noor of St. Mary’s Junior College, Basheerbagh (I) and Govind Joshi, Keval Patel, Shiva Keshav – Roots Collegium (II).

In the senior category the winners were S M Munner Ali and Syed Manzoor Ahmed of ICSI College, Khairatabad and Rupam Bhadury, Priyansh Saraf, Amar Tengsal of Arora Degree College.

For the pro-display-startup fest competition the winners in both senior and junior categories were, Aakarsh (I), Dharani (II) and – and Monica, Shreya, Padmini (I) and Rubina Wadhwania (II), all from Roots Collegium.

In the short film competition the winners were Tabrez, Harsh, Yash, Somya, Prerna of Roots Collegium (I), Vineetha, Sai Subramanyam, P Vikas, B Rohith of Jagruthi Degree College (II) and Venu Gopal Reddy, Vamshi, Shikar, Vaishnavi of Roots Collegium (III).

In the paper presentation contest Ayesha Mahera, Lahari, Afreen Samnani, Raazia Fathi, Drusti Joshi and Deepika Agarwal of Roots won prizes. In the advertisement festival, Ashish and Pranav of Little Flower High School, Mohd. Naseem, Vamshi, Rahul, P Aakash, Jonathan and Nagendra of Roots Collegium won the prize. In the singing competition for juniors the winners were Bobby of Loyola Academy, Sahithi Prayaga of Roots Collegium, Pranav of Little Flower High School. Sameera and Abishek of Loyola Academy were in winners in senior instrumental competition.

In senior solo competition, the winners were Imran Abbas of Roots Collegium and John of Mallareddy Engineering College.
