An eight-year-old girl was raped by an unidentified person at Weaker Sections Colony in Shamshabad on Monday. The girl’s parents had dropped her off at her grandparents’ home before going out to sell sacred leaves in connection with Ganesh Chaturthi.
When they returned in the evening, the girl complained of health problems. They took her to Niloufer Hospital where doctors confirmed that the girl was raped. Based on a complaint, the police registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace the culprits.
