There is good news for a section of employees of Telangana nativity but allocated to Andhra Pradesh post bifurcation. Of about 900 such employees eager to come back to Telangana, 60 employees will be returning soon.

After distribution of State-level employees between the two Telugu States based on the guidelines of Kamalnathan Committee approved by the Centre, many Telangana employees of Class I, II, III and IV categories despite their option for Telangana had been allotted to Andhra as the number of Telangana native employees was more than the posts available in the State.

As Telangana government was not in a position to create supernumerary posts to accommodate all the Telangana native employees , the efforts of Class IV employees who had left their families here and moved to Velagapudi did not bear fruit.

Letter to AP

Finally, Telangana government had written to AP government requesting that 60 employees of Telangana nativity, including 27 Class IV employees be sent to their home State on deputation.

The AP government sources said that they had received the letter only on Tuesday and there should not be any problem in conceding to the request.

There was no word yet whether more such deputations will be considered by the Telangana government in phases.

Meanwhile, the final allocation of 757 State level employees of the unified State is still pending. They include Deputy Superintendents of Police, Additional SPs and non-cadre SPs under the DG and IGP (683), superintendents of Prohibition and Excise department (62), APSPF Commandants (2), 10 employees of Health and Medical Education departments. Of that cases relating to 132 employees are pending in High Court and 35 cases in the AP Administrative Tribunal.

Deputy collectors

Their final allocation to AP and Telangana will be subject to the final orders from the court and the tribunal.

Recently, final allocation of 536 deputy collectors was made between AP and Telangana with approval of Department of Personnel and Training,Government of India.

Their allocation was pending for a long time in the court due to seniority issues that were finally resolved.

As on December 30, 2017, GoI finally allotted 56,419 State level employees — 31,941 to Andhra Pradesh and 24,478 employees to Telangana State.
