Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) has announced the admission process for its six-year integrated B.Tech programme for the academic year 2013-14.
A total of 3,000 seats are available – 1,000 each at the university’s constituent institutes at Basar, Nuzvid and Idupulapaya, Vice-Chancellor R.V. Raja Kumar said at a press conference here on Thursday. The programme is open only to candidates who have passed their Class X in 2013 through SSC, ICSE or CBSE. Selection will be based on the GPA achieved in the Class X exam.
The programme constitutes two parts -- a pre-university course of two years equivalent to Intermediate, followed by a four-year engineering course in any of the six disciplines, namely chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electronics and communications engineering, materials science and metallurgical engineering and mechanical engineering.
The application process is online and open on the website http://admissions2013.rgukt.in from 5 p.m. on May 24. Those who do not have Internet access could approach the nearest APOnline centre for applying. Last date for online applications is June 17, while the hard copies of the applications should reach the university registrar by June 22.
A registration fee of Rs. 150 should be paid through a crossed demand draft of any nationalised bank drawn in favour of RGUKT SBH A/C No. 62282402377 payable at Hyderabad. Alternatively, it can be paid through SBH challan or Internet banking (SBH i-collect).
A print copy of the application along with the proof of fee payment and copies of the certificates should be sent to The Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Vindhya, C-4, IIIT-H Campus, Gachibowli, Hyderabad—500032 by speed post or registered post. “If a candidate fails to submit hard copies of the application with relevant certificates as specified in the website, his or her application will not be considered,” Prof. Raja Kumar pointed out.
During selection, a deprivation score of 0.4 prescribed by the government will be added to the GPA of applicants from non-residential government schools such as ZP and municipal schools. Statutory reservations for SCs, STs and women will be duly applied, apart from the quotas for the disabled, NCC, sportspersons and children of armed personnel.
Candidates’ list
A list of selected candidates will be displayed on the website from July 8, while counselling for the admissions is scheduled for July 24 and 25 at the respective campuses. To fill the seats of candidates who do not turn up for admissions, another round of counselling will be held on July 28. List of candidates for this counselling along with the waiting list will be put up on the website on July 26.
