November 21, 2014 11:38 pm | Updated 11:38 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Three engineering students were crushed to death in a road accident at Kompally on Thursday evening. The victims, Srikanth (23), Mandeep Goud (22) and Rajendar Reddy (24), all pursuing second-year engineering course at CMR College in Kompally were coming to the city on a motorcycle.

A lorry driver took a sudden U turn near Kompally flyover and the students slowed down their vehicle to avoid hitting the lorry. “A tipper coming from behind rammed their bike crushing them between the lorry and the tipper,” Petbasheerabad Inspector A. Subash Chandra Bose said. The trio sustained serious injuries and died on the spot, the police said.
