GHMC Special Commissioner Navin Mittal said on Wednesday that an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is being set up at the head office with effect from June 1 onwards to function round the clock in coordination with other departments.

In a meeting held to prepare a monsoon action plan, he said the EOC would act as a nodal agency to coordinate with other departments like R&B, HMWS &SB, District Collectorates of Hyderabad & Ranga Reddy, Chief Engineer, I &CAD, Director of Tourism, APCPDCL, APSRTC, Medical & Health, City Police, Fire, HMDA and others.

The EOC would function in association with about 25 government departments in GHMC limits and each of the department's participating has been asked to nominate a senior official to be a nodal officer.

Respective departmental heads have been requested to send their contact numbers, available tools and other inventory of equipment available on or before May 25.
