17,000 quintals seed exported to OECD countries

The Telangana State Seed and Organis Certification Authority, the nodal agency for certification of seed for export under the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), has exported 1700 MT of sorghum and paddy seed to Sudan, Egypt and Philippines. The sixth general body meeting of TSSOCA held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Agriculture Secretary C. Parthasarathi complimented the efforts of the authority and decided to expand the OECD certification to four other States. The OECD certification would be taken up in 6,000 acres in Rabi season against 2,175 acres last season.
