Thirteen property offenders involved in various property offences were arrested by the Cyberabad police and property including 1.75 kg. of gold, four kilograms of silver and electronic items - all worth Rs. 75 lakh were recovered from them.
In the first case, the police arrested seven members of the infamous ‘Peddinti Golla’ inter-State gang.
The gang was involved in a dacoity reported at Shamshabad a few weeks ago. The arrested gang members Pala Venkateshwar, Pala Shiva, Neelam Sriram Vijay, Pala Vijay, Pala Karna Kumar, Jashuwa forcibly broke into the house and decamped with the booty after threatening the occupants.
A woman, Pala Geetha, who assisted the gang members in disposing off the property, was also arrested by the police. The gang members were involved in over 80 cases reported in different States.Burglars held
In another case, Cyberabad Central Crime Station police arrested five burglars - Chinnapally Ravi, 28, Sangisetty Venkateshwarlu, 30, Meesala Ashok, 25 and S S Venkataramana, 35 and Meelam Naresh, 30, allegedly involved in cases reported in various police stations under Cyberabad.Chain snatcher held
The police also arrested a notorious chain snatcher of Irani gang, Mohammed Afsar Ali Jafri, 26, of Thane for his involvement in gold snatching cases. The gang took houses on rent in the city and resorted to chain snatchings. Three persons who received the stolen property were also arrested by the police.
