1.3 crore saplings to be planted in Jagtial

The district administration has decided to take up plantation of 1.3 crore saplings during the ensuing Telanganaku Haritha haram programme after onset of monsoons in the district.

At a review meeting with the officials here on Saturday, Collector A. Sharath said that they had allocated targets for each departments, including DRDA 15 lakhs, Agriculture Department 33 lakhs, Forest Department 34 lakhs, Revenue Department 22 lakhs, Excise Department 11 lakhs, all the three municipalities — Jagtial, Korutla and Metpally — 10.5 lakh, SRSP 5.5 lakh, Flood Flow Canal 3 lakh, Police Department 1 lakh, among others.

He instructed the authorities concerned to identify the places for the plantation of saplings village-wise, mandal-wise and also delegate responsibility to individual officials. He directed the officials to plant saplings on the places where earlier planted saplings withered. SP Anantha Sharma and others were also present.
