122 die of heat stroke in Telangana

Mahabubnagar and Medak have reported 30 deaths while 26 people died of heat stroke, according to the State’s disaster response wing.

The official heat wave toll continues to mount with the State now acknowledging that 122 people died of heat stroke this summer.

Three-member mandal committees, have been verifying reports of deaths due to heat wave. After initially reporting all deaths, the government has now resolved to only report and compensate verified deaths. Mahabubnagar and Medak have reported 30 deaths while 26 people died of heat stroke, according to the State’s disaster response wing. While Ranga Reddy has recorded 10 deaths, officially no deaths in Hyderabad were attributed to heat stroke. Hyderabad recorded 42 degree Celsius.
