The city police on Monday busted a cricket betting racket and arrested 11 persons. Police also seized Rs. 7.5 lakh, 40 cell phones, laptops and other equipment from the gang.

On a tip-off, cops from the Banjara Hills police station conducted an operation and nabbed two punters who were accepting betting through phones at Sri Satyasai Nigamanagam, Srinagar Colony. The punters later led the cops to an apartment complex in the Gatchibowli area where the rest of the gang members were nabbed.

The punters have been running the racket for the last two years and were making profit on IPL matches. Cases have been registered against the accused at the Banjara Hills police station and an enquiry is on.
