100 more public toilets

The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), which is working on a mission entrusted to it by the State Government to improve the conditions of public toilets in the city, has recommended an additional 100 pre-fabricated toilets besides making the 275 existing ones fully functional. At a meeting on Wednesday with the stakeholders - the GHMC, Govt. departments and civil society members, it was decided that best practises across the country be studied and a Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for cleaning and maintenance be prepared.
