10 State officers promoted to IAS cadre

Centre’s plea pending against CAT order

Ten officers of the State Government have been appointed to the Indian Administrative Services on promotion.

The department of personnel and training under the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has notified the appointment of these officers to the IAS cadre against the vacancies determined in consultation with the State Government. The appointments were made on the basis of vacancies that had arisen during the years 2015 and 2016.

Accordingly, K. Sri Lakshmi and K. Dharma Reddy have been conferred IAS cadre under the vacancies in 2015 while Chittem Lakshmi, T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, Ch. Shivalingaiah, V. Venkateswarlu, M. Hanumantha Rao, D. Amoy Kumar, K. Hymavathi and M. Haritha have been appointed against the vacancies in 2016.

According to a notification issued by the Union Ministry, the selection committee had observed that no officers were eligible for consideration against the vacancies of 2014 as per the eligibility list submitted by the State Government. Therefore, the select list of 2014 could not be prepared.

The notification said the appointments were subject to the outcome of the writ petitions filed by the Union Government against the orders passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad bench in cases relating to A. Vani Prasad, V. Karuna and M. Prashanthi.
