Zebra, no crossing

As the camera pans a zebra crossing being painted by the New Delhi Municipal Council, the question of how often our motorists respect this sign vis-a-vis pedestrians on the roads comes up naturally.

While these typical black and white stripes in many countries give pedestrians the permanent right of way, in India, even when the traffic lights turn red, they are regularly violated or ignored
