Young man held on molestation charge

December 25, 2013 11:30 am | Updated 11:30 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A 27-year-old man - accused of sexually assaulting minor girls after trapping them by levelling false allegations - has been arrested by the South-East District Police.

The arrested person, identified as Azad Khan, has three cases of molestation, one each in June, September and December, registered in Govindpuri police station.

He used pretexts such as accusing the girls of thrashing his nephew on the previous day and would tell them that he needed to contact her family. He then asked them to accompany him. But instead, he would take them to a forest near Tughlakabad Fort where he assaulted them,” said a police source.

According to the police, they zeroed in on Azad with the help of a sketch. Several raid teams were constituted to track him down.

“During investigations, it was found from the sources and technical data analysis that Azad Khan was in Bihar from where he was arrested,” said a senior police officer adding that after fulfilment of the legal requirements, they will demand his police remand to ascertain if he was involved in other similar cases.
