A 42-year-old woman was allegedly beaten up by some youth on a local train on Mathura-Delhi route on Friday following an altercation over seat sharing.
The incident comes close on the heels of the murder of Junaid, who was returning home after shopping for Id on June 22, over seat sharing in a local train on the Delhi-Mathura route.
Santosh Dubey, a resident of Nangloi in Delhi, was returning home along with her family when some young men boarded the train at Chhata railway station in Uttar Pradesh. They then allegedly pushed the family.
Kicked in stomach
An altercation again broke out between the family and the young men a little later over seat sharing and the latter allegedly rained blows on the family. Ms. Dubey was allegedly punched and kicked in the stomach. She was taken to a civil hospital in Old Faridabad and later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
One of the accused was reportedly caught by the public at Old Faridabad railway station. However, he managed to flee. The accused wore T-shirts bearing stickers of a two-wheeler firm.
