December 13, 2014 09:55 am | Updated 09:55 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A 40-year-old woman was molested allegedly by a loader at the Indira Gandhi International Airport while waiting outside Terminal-3 after landing from Dubai late on Thursday night, the police said.

The police said a case had been registered against the accused, Shravan Kumar, under Sections 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. The 28-year-old Mangolpuri resident was produced in court on Friday and remanded in judicial custody.

The woman, a Noida resident, told the police that she was waiting for her brother outside the airport when the accused started staring inappropriately. A police officer said: “The woman told us that she objected to his behaviour, but he allegedly started verbally abusing her.”

The officer said the woman then slapped the accused and the two got into a scuffle. Other passengers intervened and police personnel from the nearby picket rushed to the spot.
