A 26-year-old woman, who was found unconscious near the Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station on Wednesday, has alleged that she was gang-raped by four men after they made her consume sedative-laced drinks.

The victim, a resident of Geeta Colony, told the police that after regaining consciousness she realised that she had been sexually assaulted.

A police officer said the woman could not recall the entire sequence of events.

“When she came back to her senses, she found herself near a prepaid auto booth. With the help of passers-by, she contacted the police and lodged a complaint. She told us that she had plans to watch a film with her friends Jatin and Kapil at a cinema hall in Lajpat Nagar on Tuesday night. They were accompanied by two more persons. Since the tickets were sold out, they decided to return,” said a senior police officer.

On their way back, the woman alleged, she was offered a soft drink and fell unconscious after consuming it.

The police have registered a case of gang-rape. No arrests have been made so far. The police are also trying to get a CCTV footage of the area.

The officer also said that the woman’s statement was being verified as she has changed her statements a few times. Initially, she alleged that only Jatin raped her but later said there could have been more than one person involved.
