A 31-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Rajouri Garden metro station in West Delhi on Monday morning.

According to police, the incident took place around 10-15 a.m. and the victim, later identified as Omvati, succumbed to injuries while she was being shifted to the hospital from the platform. Her body was later sent for post-mortem.

A suicide note was also found from her possession. According to the police, it mentioned that no one was responsible for her taking the extreme step.

“After initial investigation, it seems that she took this extreme step after a man she loved refused to marry her,” said a police officer.
