Woman accuses Okhla MLA of rape threat

July 22, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 09:27 am IST - New Delhi:

In fresh trouble for the AAP, a woman has alleged that she was threatened with rape and murder by a youth at the “behest” of Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan. The police have registered an FIR against unknown persons under Sections 506 and 509 of the IPC.

“The case is not against the MLA,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (south-eastern Range) R.P. Upadhyay. The complainant was earlier associated with the AAP. The Jasola resident had called up Mr. Khan on July 10 to complain about power failure in her area. She went to his Jamia Nagar house after he was “indifferent” to her complaint. When she did not receive any response at the door, she decided to go back.

“I had just walked a few steps when a youth opened the door. Accusing me of being a political leader, he threatened to have me raped and burnt alive. He said he was just conveying the MLA’s threats,” she alleged.
