A 25-year-old woman was allegedly abducted from Noida’s Golf Course metro station late on Friday and gangraped by two men in a moving car as they drove around Delhi and Noida for nearly eight hours. The victim was later let out near Akshardham temple in east Delhi in the early hours of Saturday.

Says no to medical test

“A case under Sections 376D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the two unknown accused. We have also recorded the statements of the victim,” said Avnish Dixit, Station House Officer of the Sector 39 police station in Noida. The officer added that the woman has so far refused to undergo a medical examination and has also refused to hand over her phone citing privacy concerns.

Police officials said they will check footage of CCTV cameras near the metro stations to ascertain the sequence of events.

Recounting her ordeal, the victim said: “I was waiting for an auto-rickshaw near the metro station at around 6 p.m. on Friday. Two men in an SUV approached me and asked for directions to Sector 18. While I was explaining the route one of the accused pulled me inside the car”.

The woman alleged that the accused took turns raping her, and drove around Noida and Delhi. They finally dumped her near Akshardham temple around 2 a.m. and fled the spot.

Had come 3 days ago

“I was scared when they threw me out on the empty road. I dialled 100 and a police team reached the spot. They brought me to the Sector 39 police station in Noida around 2.30 a.m.,” she added. The victim, a native of Uttar Pradesh, had come to Noida just three days ago in search of a job.
