Chief of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences' JPNA Trauma Centre has ordered an inquiry to fix responsibility for having allowed media persons to enter the intensive care unit where the badly battered two-year-old girl is admitted.

Responding to a notice issued by the Lajpat Nagar Child Welfare Committee for alleged violations under the Juvenile Justice Act, Trauma Centre administrative officer A.K. Kim submitted that steps had been taken to avoid a repeat of such incident.

According to the reply, a committee comprising three senior faculty members and the administrative officer was set up on January 28 to conduct the inquiry. The committee was directed to submit a report, fixing responsibility for the incident and suggesting guidelines in the form of standard-operating procedures.
